- The more time and effort put into decorating a nursery, the more likely that the baby will sleep in your room.
- Things that don’t wake a sleeping newborn: loud noises and bright lights. Things that do wake a sleeping newborn: sitting down to eat dinner.
- Maybe they’ll say…
Jared and I did a lot of Skype sessions when I went back to work. Mostly for my benefit. But it works!
Great advice! Thx!
Yeah it’s all breastfed babies.. as he gets older & starts eating solids it gets wayyy better. (From Experience w/ my son 6+months)
I hope it gets better soon. He’s been eating solids for two months but usually once or twice a day. My dad did say that one time when he was giving him a hard time he fed him a container of carrots and he slept for a record 7 hours.
Maybe have her call you on the phone, on speaker, when he’s being particularly difficult? Hearing your voice can make all the difference.
Why didn’t I think of that?? I’ll try that! Thanks :)
Apparently, when I leave him with her he won’t stop crying. He won’t take the bottle and he has never taken a pacifier. He hates them. I have no idea what to suggest to her. She thinks I should give him less boob more bottle.
Anyone have any tips for dealing with this separation anxiety he’s been having?
Jace had quite the adventure this weekend.
Every year the wife and I, and a number of other people go to Hell’s Kitchen’s Ninth Avenue International Food Festival in Manhattan. If you are a foodie, you need to be here. If you enjoy arts and crafts, there’s room for you. And if you just like being outside with food, drinks and good music, come on down! Honestly there’s something here for just about anyone, just be prepared to walk. The festival stretches from 59th street all the way to 42nd. A few years ago, the festival would extend over to about 37th street.
To avoid any potential stroller issues, I decided to strap Jace on for the day. I wonder if I would’ve considered all the negatives (the heat, the people, the weight on my shoulders, walking for a long period of time, etc) of that day, would I have changed my mind. Looking back, though, I made a great decision.
Like any other event, Jace was the center of attention among our family, our friends, and the many random people who stopped to see Jace. He took it all very well and was a happy baby for the majority of the day. Anytime he showed signs of fussiness, it was either time for a bottle, a diaper change or he just wanted to be released from the carrier for a bit. It all worked out pretty well. Because of the heat and lack of coverage (clouds and trees), Jace got a nice little tan. Thankfully the wife made sure he had a hat to cover his face and head.
We didn’t leave until about 6 and you could see it on each of our faces. A day spent walking under the sun will surely exhaust anyone. When we finally arrived home, Jace didn’t even put up a fight and slept for about 4 hours straight! What a great day we all had.
